What is your question?
Over the last couple of years, several times by now, my car goes into low RPM mode and I have to restart it to continue driving. Always the same code - P2110 - Throttle Actuator Control System - Forced Limited Engine Speed. So I decide to give the throttle body a bit of cleaning.Take off the air hose and look at throttle place. It's a bit dirty, but nothing too horrible. I turn the ignition on and put a dumbbell on the gas pedal to open the throttle plate. I find the throttle plate mostly open but vibrating nervelessly. Then all of a sudden it just fully closes and then opens and continues to vibrate. Is this normal? Is the vibration normal? The closing? I don't think so. Seems like the system looses throttle plate position. Am I wrong or is it time to replace the throttle body? Here is the video I took of the throttle plate vibrating: goo.gl/photos/XrFsuEmtDevqtMiEA
couldn't begin to try to tell you what values to look for! To many, scan tool may have some 'guidelines' in it's software. Good luck!
I got ODB2 code reader, multi-meter, and a basic set of wrenches. :) With the OBD2 reader, I think I can read throttle position. Hm, should have done it. As far as what I observed, am I correct in assuming that plate should not vibrate or close/open without gas being moved?
The conditions you were watching it under , may not have been ideal. While not running it is 'searching' for the ideal position-which it cant find-because it is not running- IF you are not able to monitor live data (dont think a code reader will) , then your least expensive bet may be to have a shop you trust scan it (monitor while running) and determine the best route for repair. Them doing it might be less expensive in the long run , than buying all the necessary tools and equipment (plus parts) to do the job correctly. Good luck.
I see. Makes sense. I have a friend with a "professional" scanner that can monitor whole bunch of parameters and plot fancy live graphs. Could you tell me what parameters/sensors should I monitor?
