Low idle

(2002 Toyota Camry)
in Tyler, TX on May 24, 2011
My 2002 Camry has begun to idle very low, causing the engine to stall at start up and now is stalling when stopped at intersections. Filters are clean. Could this be a computer problem?

have the idle control motor checked. it may be carboned up and need replacement.

Agree with both answers. Carbon build up around the throttle butterfly affects idles, any vacuum leaks at the intake manifold will affect idle. If the engine stalls especially from cold start, the idle control motor gets carbon fouled, I disassemble them and have great success cleaning them, they are under the throttle housing, but occasionally have to replace them.
It is possible, but it could also be as simple as carbon build up in the system . We would be more than happy to run a diagnostic for you here at the dealership.
