I would have a skilled tech listen to this and then get an estimate. it could be dozens of things.
it might be your ecm (got mine diagnosed), check manual, btw can you e-mail me a copy of that part of the manual as i need to do the same job
the owner's manual calls for the inspection and adjustment of the valve clearance every 15,000 miles hope that helps Source(s): 1995 passport owner's manual
This issue is reported on the TSB notice (Technician Service Bulletin), this notice is a manufacturer's report, Take your vehicle to a Honda tech, the report says that some kind of varnish used during production may have caused parts to stick under the valve cover. And to be on the safe side check your oil. if there's an odor other than oil, then that's your issue. Also check the color of the oil, look for anything out of the ordinary like discoloration. Be sure you have been keeping up with your oil changes, cause that can have a lot to do with the noise as well. that clicking noise are your valves in motion. The only reason with they would be loud is if its been lacking lube, or the timing is slightly off causing the valves to hit the piston bending them in the process. yeah. The only problem with that is that I'm short on cash, and was hoping to do it myself. thank you though.
