What is your question?
when brakes are applied, a grinding sound occurs or a thump, thump, thump.I was told brakes are fine, that it was due to a previous owner who strongly applied parking brake. Does this sound right. The noise is particularly obvious when car sitting, say overnite. Not as lound when it warms up...but the thump remains.Any guesses??

Sounds to me like your brake rotors have rust build up as for the grinding noise your hearing but as for the thump thump noise it sounds like your brake rotors are outer round in that case you should replace them an that's usually caused by being heavy on the brake pedal when the brakes are hot or the rotors simply being to thin witch causes them to get a lot hotter witch can make them out of round as well good luck I hope I was helpfull to you in any way questions feel free to contact me Joe
Thanks Joe...will check it out.....let you know Tom
