Lexus IS 250 2006

The VSC light with check engine light is on. Lexus recommended I start with replacing the brake light switch first and if the light comes back on then will need a new transmission. I had my mechanic change it and the light did return. I took it to a transmission repair shop and the man said that he does not feel and problems with the car shifting and said everything looks fine. About 2 years ago I did have the VSC sensor replaced. Could it be that it is not functioning again?
What seems to make the problem better or worse? Once I did notice it came on when I hit a pothole
How long have you had this problem? 2 months

What kind of issue are you experiencing other than the light on? We will need more details but I wouldn't jump to a transmission. I suggest getting a second opinion at this point. Find an Indy shop that works on Toyota, they may be able to help out.

I have noticed a few times when I have gone in reverse and stopped before putting the car in drive and the car has shut off. I put it in park and press the start button and it starts just fine. Codes that were listed on the paperwork showed P2757 and P0504. The brake switch was first replaced in February this year and then again this time to and codes were cleared. The VSC light and check engine light returned. I then took to the transmission shop and gave them a copy of the codes that showed on the paperwork. He checked the car and drove it and said the car is driving just fine. He can not feel any problem with the car changing gears. No hesitation noticed.

What failure codes are stored in the computer? I would address the factory method of diagnosis for that first rather then just throwing parts at it. Nate ASE Master Tech

The codes listed from the dealers paperwork show P2757 and P0504. My mechanic replaced brake switch. After an hours or so the VSC light and check engine light came back on. The codes were cleared but have a copy to the transmission shop and he drove it and checked the car and said the car is shifting without any problem.
