This Cutlass was leaking coolant and appeared to be coming from the water pump. We removed the old to discover it was shot (turning it with hand, discovered the pulley was restricted by clunking noise) and replaced it with a new one. After reassembling the new one and running a test, it still leaked "albeit less" and appeared to be from under neath. So, we removed it again and re-attached it with new gasket and re-torqued all the bolts to specs and still had leakage. My main question is: "I am told by some it could be a cracked block, but I figure it is too low of an area to be that or I was also told it could be a soft plug. Anything I can get to a possibility would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I had a 93 cutlass and i think there is a tube that inserts on one side? And there is an o ring on the tube that inserts into the pump body?maybe it leaks here?
