Jetta won't start engine won't turn over

What is your question?

Never had this problem before, but my jetta will not start, I turn the key and the engine will not turn over just the the rrhhhh, rhhhh, rhhhh noise. Not sure if I need a fuel pump, starter or what any ideas? I have no clue about car engines. :-)
