Jaguar dealer told me I had a slow oil leak but have to lift the whole motor .

Do I have to fix this right away or can I still drive the car, is it a costly repair ? They r telling me over two thousand dollars most likely if this is the case I will not get fixed rather get a new car. Is it ok to drive? And therefore the check engine light has been on for two yrs
