Car will shift fine sometimes and then you have to manually shift. Transmission was rebuilt 19 months ago. Mechanic has replaced solenoid which was indicated when placed on the computer. This did not fix the problem. Any ideas? There have been one or two minor electrical issues such as rear windshield wiper activates when lights are turned on. Doors will lock with doors open randomly.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Does not happen all the time and sometimes you can drive 5 to 10 miles and it does fine

The fact you're dealing with a "rebuilt" transmission opens up the thought that something internally on the "rebuilt" unit is not working properly.
