What is your question?
When I put gas in it starts to just spit it all back out. I have to put gas in slowly m it takes for ever. On top of that I constantly smell gas when I get out of the vehicle n it gives me headaches. Is their a recall due to the evap?
What makes this problem better or worse?
It seems as if something is clogged in the gas tube
How long has your 2016 Nissan Frontier had this problem?
A month

NO. it's more than likely the evap vapor canister vent valve solenoid that has failed see the links below. you didn't put the engine size in your question which makes a difference on the correct vent valve.you can R&R the valve/solenoid in less that 10 minutes. this is a common problem on your vehicle. https://repairpal.com/check-engine-light-due-to-failed-evap-canister-vent-valve-341# https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/nissan,2016,frontier,2.5l+l4,3353798 https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/nissan,2016,frontier,4.0l+v6,3353799,exhaust+&+emission,vapor+canister+vent+valve+/+solenoid,16992
This may be a late reply but Nissan has issued a TSB for this problem. Reference their TSB classification EC15-020A, reference NTB17-030a dated August 16, 2018. This service bulletin is titled NISSAN; FUEL TANK EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO FILL. The bulletin will only be applied if the customer states that they are routinely experiencing difficulty fueling the vehicle at different fuel stations. Nissan won't do this bulletin if you state that the problem is only intermittent. So, the bulletin simply states to check the vapor lines (using a smoke machine) for blockage. If there is blockage then they will replace the vent lines. If no blockage then the bulletin does not apply. My 2017 vehicle had this exact problem and I checked all vent lines for blockage and found no problems. However, my charcoal canister was completely full of water which did cause vapor flow restriction and therefore prevented my ability to refuel the vehicle. The service manual states to weigh the canister. If it is over 2 Kg (4.4 lbs) to replace it. Mine was over that amount but I simply poured the water out and did a compressed air purge for the day to try to dry things out. The evaporator control valve tested fine and the pressure sensor also tested fine. Both of these are mounted atop the charcoal canister and are tested with a simple application of 12v battery power. A squirt of WD-40 into each to remove the water and they were reinstalled. The draining of the water and drying attempt resolved my refueling issue. Nissan definitely has a design flaw with this system in which the atmospheric vent is not shielded enough to prevent water/dirt ingress during normal operation. As always, WHEN WORKING AROUND THE FUEL TANK AND VENTILATION SYSTEM USE EXTREME CAUTION AND NEVER EXPOSE VAPORS TO HEAT, SPARK OR FLAME.
No,it's not to late even if owner above already had their vehicle fixed. It will help others if/when they do a search on this site for same or similar problem, glad you posted it..Great Details too!
