The short answer is yes, but there is a little more to the issue.
You have to figure out why the timing is incorrect.
Most times on Nissan/Infinity the timing chain guide rails and tensioners are the cause of these problems, and starting when cold is the noisiest time.
When the rails and tensioner wear out, the cams will rotate further than expected, causing misalignment of the cam sensor.
The rattle you are hearing is likely from the front of the engine, as opposed to the lifters tapping. The difference between the two is the difference between a rattle and a tap.
Have this one inspected by a certified technician right away, as the problem can and probably will escalate quickly.
