What is your question?
I just had what I believe to be inspection II (52000 miles); within 2 weeks my car started oveheating (fan was on after I shut off the engine). The temperature of the car reach the hot level, red light came and a burn smell emminated. Shouldn't a II inspection include checking of all fluids including antifreeze or coolant?

Yes it is part of the inspection and can be found in BMW inspection sheet documents An inspection 2 consists of a full vehicle check, which is also carried out during an oil service and inspection 1, replacement of oil, filter, plugs, air filter and basic levels and pressures. All fluids are checked and should be correct at the time the vehicle leaves the workshop. Coincidence though, something like maybe "the thermostat housing leaked all coolant causing you to overheat" and cannot be foreseen by anyone in the service department. Unless of course there were sign of a leak and was ignored or overlooked, at which it is hard to prove at this stage in time, after the overheating. Hope all works out
