If oil pressure was low would this cause gaskets to leak.

I had an oil change done and they did not place the plug in correctly which cause my oil light to come on and when it was in the shop they notice I was very low on oil. Now less than 5,000 I am being told I now need my oil gasket and head gasket changed. My vehicle has 149,000 miles I have my oil changed every other month or between 4 & 50000 miles I use a synthetic oil Was wondering if the low oil could have caused gasket problem (leaking)_
