idle problems

I would clean the throttle body, if is is full of carbon, it will stick like you are experiencing. Also, be sure that your throttle cable is in good shape and not frayed and thus sticking in the cable housing. After you clean the throttle body, re-set the idle hard stop by warming up the engine and then unplugging the idle motor. You want the car to barely idle, like 500 rpm with the idle motor unplugged, then when you plug in the idle motor, the idle should go to 800 or so.
