I smell gas in my 4 runner - how do I check for leaks in fuel pump

A visual inspection of the fuel lines and fittings from the fuel tank to the engine should be the first step. Also look around the fuel rail for possible leaks. If you don't see anything I would suggest checking the fuel pressure on your 1993 Toyota 4Runner. Fuel pressure should hold steady after the engine is turned off. If the pressure drops that may indicate a leak. Other possible causes for leaks are the injectors and fuel pressure regulator.
