What is your question?
The ticking sound is almost non existent when in neutral, but once in gear the ticking is much more pronounced. It's not loud and isn't always present. It comes and goes but always comes back. I hear it more when a car pulls up along side of me. What do you think it is. Today the mechanic tightened down the torque converter bolts. After that process the noise is still there. Please help me with some ideas. If anyone has experienced this issue please let me know what it is?

A BUNCH of possibilities can be eliminated by removing the drive belt and 'temporarily' running the engine to see if noise is gone! .. Plus that makes it quieter in the engine compartment so the noise, if still there, will be easier to pinpoint.. You might suggest that to whomever is checking it out, not suggested for a novice.
Hello pushrod, Update it was a cracked fly wheel, bud. Imagine that? You mentioned that was a possibility, pass it on... I had the fly wheel replaced and no more problem... Thank you, James Begin
