I was told it was a air leak problem,but what does an air leak have to do with the smell of gas. Would welcome your reply.

have the fuel system inspected for leaks. something is leaking somewhere. 1st to 4th gear?? do you bypass all the other gears?? Roy
Same issue I'm having. I have No fuel system leaks and I only smell gas when shifting from 1st to 2nd and only when window(s) is open. I can't smell it in the cab when windows are closed. I seems like fuel isn't getting burned I'm haven't been able to track down the couse but i do knoe new plugs and wires didn't fix gas smell.
