Q: i have a noise coming from the rear when accelerating. what can that noise be? on 2008 Porsche Cayenne

i have took it in for service but they couldn't determine the problem. they cleaned and changed the break pad, after two weeks the noise will return.
i don't think the breaks was problem. do you think it has to do with the rear axel?

It could be brake related. Try driving down an alley with buildings/walls on both sides, roll the windows down and drive slowly - See if you can determine which side the sound is coming from. If the sound is more pronounced on one side or the other, it may be brake or suspension related. If the sound seems to be central, it may be axle/differential related.
