I have a grinding sound around where the serpentine belt is hooked up?

I hear a grinding sound around the serpentine belt area where it goes around water pump and what every else?
#1 what can it be? a bad belt, a bad water pump or all
#2 what is the average cost to change out 1 or all that stuff on a 99 monte carlo ?
I have change the belt out years ago , I was told from a guy he said my timing belt was good about 2 years ago. he had to change out a gasket on the cover it was leaking.

What engine do you have that has a timing belt, not a timing chain. Take the serpentine belt off and spin the pulleys individually and find the grinding noise.
It has a timing chain as well. 3/8 drive ratchet for the belt tensioner and loosen tension. Easy as pie, getting it back on is different. Maybe someone could help you.
Its a 3.1 liter. I don't have a clue how to take off belt. But thx for reply. At least I know it could be one of those components. Thx
