I have a 2001 Pontiac grand Prix GT with a 3.8 motor.we noticed an oil leak coming from the front passenger side of the car.the oil pressure started out at 99% now is down to 44% it leaks when started and idling.

Strongly suspect oil pressure sending unit.. Also called the oil pressure sensor.. It's mounted behind the oil filter on passenger side and can be easily checked by a car savvy (friend or neighbor maybe) by looking for leak with engine running.. Car really needs to be jacked up and front passenger wheel and the plastic splash shield removed to get a good view ot the part in question.. That would keep cost at a minimum.. Part should be less than $20.00. .. For a picture of the part Google > PART # : MPE OP6758SB ... Acknowledge message received by replying below..
