What is your question?
I have a 01 silverado with a 4.3.I have replaced every sensor possible on the motor.new distribiter, new timeing chain, new fuel pump, new fuel filter, is perfect in time.it gets blue spark through the plugs and gets fuel in the cylinders cause it soaks the plugs after cranking over a few times.it spits back through the intake and the exhaust like its out of time but it is not out of time.I called 3 gm dealers and was told different story's like its the spider injector, its the pcm and its the valves.so as u can tell they didnt know much more than about this issue.any help would be appreciated.

You have the original problem fixed... BUT... Number one on the distributor cap ain't where you think it is!!!! It's on the other side!!!!! Check it out, cause you have the distributor off about 180.!!!!!!! ..Go check it out and prove me wrong!! ..OH I know, you couldn't be wrong 'but' you had better take a look!... I guess you know by now the dist can't be turned to adj for this?!?! Got to pull it back out and set it 'EXACTLY RIGHT'..!!!!! BTW, timing chain was a waste of time and money!.. Never give any problems!!
Hey pushrod, I have the same truck with the same problems. I have only replaced the fuel filter and spark plugs. I will crank and start most the time. Then out of no where it will not start unless you feather the gas, and sometimes that doesn't work. I'm getting fuel and spark. It will start and run fine for days or weeks and then all these problems happen. Where should I look next. You seem to know what your talking about. Thanks for any help you can give!
When it will NOT start .. Check for HOT spark from coil and then to spark plugs... Test for correct fuel pressure also!
Hey, I did the same s..t on one years ago so I know first hand!!!... Let me know how you make out... Now that dist has got to be 'dead on' going back!!! Just saying! Paint you a mark where #1 actually is on the dist body for reference! That should get you on the road!... Reply back here for crankshaft position relearn procedure!!.. That needs to be done also!
Ok yes pulled cab and I was pointed at the number 1 plug wire but as u said the fireing pin isnt on the number 1 spot.so I got it aligned with the right pin now.on to the crankshaft relearning
It fired up after a few cranks.has a ruff idle and i dont have a scanner at the moment but happy to hear it fire.just bought the truck cheap with the usual its just a simple fix story and I was hoping it wasn't to much wrong with it.
It's got to clear all the gas from the cylinders, should run better shortly!..... Need a scanner with functional test to accurately do the crank relearn.. Do you have 'access' to one?
Humm.. Find a buddy with a real scanner and get back to me if you need more info.. Happy motoring!!
Thank you with all your help.saved me a lot of fustration and money replacing parts.I will hunt down a scanner to finish the rest
I need help bad ... new plugs ign coil crank sensor cap rotor ...how is this even possible... I spray carb cleaner in the intake and it doesn't start with spark .. wtf
So your saying that my rotor should point to #4?
Nope ... Take the cap off and look inside... See that hump coming from where the #1 plug wire goes on the cap?... Now follow that hump to see where it goes... That contact on the other side of the cap IS where the rotor sends fire to the # 1 plug go look at it and you will see what I'm talking about!!! Rotor has got to point to that contact in the cap when installing the distributor... With #1 cylinder on TDC Compressoon stroke! You dig??
I got it makes sense now.so im sure I been fighting time all along
