I cannot removefuel filter from 1993 Ford explorer

Sounds like the "quick release" of the connector is binding. Persistence pays off. However, I'd pay a few bucks and take it to a professional: If you break the connector, the only option is to replace the entire fuel line, which is a nightmare -- even if you can still get one.
