we want to put a rear window airconditioner in. how do we remove the window safely

Is this going to be a permanent installation? .. Otherwise the *rear glass* gets destroyed upon removal.... Then another 'replacement' glass must be installed .. For camping or temporary use - roll down front door window glass and locate A/C unit there.
