How to reset software for air conditioning....2008 Lexus ES350

When I try to turn the air conditioning on my 2008 Lexus ES350, I get this message:
"check the connection to the air conditioner"
The car's battery was dead for 6 months. I charged the battery, but didn't drive the car
for another six months.
When I finally drove it, every time I pushed the climate switch, I got this message.
Everything worked perfectly before the battery went dead....my guess is it's a software issue. Car has only 70,000 miles.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Nothing....a/c won't turn on
