If a fuse keeps blowing there is a short circuit or system overload that is causing the fuse to blow, not sure about your car but often the wires that go from the body to the door get flexed so often they frey and brake between the body and the door. The Check Engine light having come on means there is a problem. The code needs to be retrieved from the computer in your car and investigated/repaired. There is a company that independent auto repair shops "buy" their information from that offer a very reasonable service to do it yourselvers. You can get a one week subrcription or year subscription very cheap. The information is year make and model specific repair procedures, service bulletins, component locations, wiring diagrams ect.... great quality information same as the professionals have ,much better than generic workshop manuals from parts stores, much cheaper than the factory manual try

ok, got the code from the "check engine light", it says no fault. now i realize that the "check engine light" and the "check" light are different. the "check" light is the one that is flashing, and it is for the "check control panel" just above the review mirror. this tells me if a head light is out, brake light is out, etc. The brake light is on, indicating a problem. now i see that the center brake light on the trunk lid(its a convertable)is out. i removed the four screws on the underside of the trunk lid, as the owners manual says, but i cant seem to get the plastic cover to come off. i get to the point that i am afraid of breaking it. the owners manual just says it should come off, no special technique. the way it looks, it may have never been off. got any ideas? is there an adhesive used to hold the cover on besides the four screws? thanks for your time. and sorry about wasting your time on the earlier question.
The high mount rear light is out. I'm having a difficult time taking the housing off to replace the light. Any ideas for my 1990 BMW 325i?
