how to reset after putting in new car battery

There is nothing that has to be reset. The engine should start after replacing the battery if everything is working as it should. Did the engine run prior to replacing the battery? You probably have other issues, possibilities are Crankshaft Position Sensor, Fuel Pump. wiring etc. I suggest you have your vehicle inspected by a qualified technician.
