i have the samething going on with my sportage. i was told to check the timing over and over again.. what help you with yours?
If your timing belt is loose ...replace it...also the idle pulley and spring.
Buy a good timing belt brand not a cheap one ...because you will have to do it again.
Make sure number 1 cylinder is top dead center. If you don't know how to do this ...then you should not repair your timing belt...find someone that knows....if not you will screw up your engine big time.
