how much is it to replace coolant bleeder unit?

This is what I'm tring to find out. I was told by a mechanic that I think was tring to take me, being a woman. So, I need to know from someone else? Plese help. $400 I was told.

Well...it is a new factory part (and probably very expensive), add the the 80 bucks an hour labor rate and ancillary charges for new coolant, recommended thermostat replacement, hoses, etc., etc. and $400.00 comes in no time. If the car is already off warranty save yourself some money and go to Tempco Radiator in Signal Hill, CA. Near Walnut Ave and Burnett st. I have gone there for over 20 years and it is local for you.
