the engine light went on and I need a California smog test for registration renewal. I was told the computer had to be reprogrammed by a Nissan specialist who came in to the garage to do it. Then I was told the error code was the catalytic converter and it need to be replaced. The quote for all parts and labor comes to $1900. I just had 3 of the 4 coils replaced 3 months ago. The car has been a little difficult to start the past few weeks. It has 125,000 miles.
In the last 3 months, I will have put about $3000 into this car which seems ridiculous since it's probably not worth much more.
