how many quarts of transmission oil do i put into my jetta?

i just need to know how many quarts to put in i let it go without ever checking the fluid for so long it went dry and i almost broke the tranny.

Jetta 1.8L just over 3 q in the auto trans of Dexron oil, .75 q synthetic 80/90w oil in the final drive. Manual trans just over 2q synthetic 80/90W gear oil. The Jetta 3 has three engine options 2.0L, 1.9L diesel, and a 2.8L.
