What is your question?
There is a tail light out that causes the yellow dash light to stay on. To access the bulb, I need to remove the lens cover. I can remove the 2 bolts but I cannot seem to pop the lens off. Is there a trick to the removal. I do not want to break anything.

Hello, You should not have to remove the lens to replace a tail light. There are access points in the carpet that covers the inside of the trunk where the light is located, and there you will find the bub and socket installed into the housing. Once you identify which one it is, turn the light socket to the left a little, and it will come out without much effort. It might just fall out.
Not on the 99 Avalon. When I remove the cover, I have access to one bulb. To access the other bulbs, you have to remove the lens. It is held in by 2 bolts and as the lens curves around the rear quarter panel, it seems to be locked into a spot that does not appear to have an access point. Is it held in with a clip of some sort? I have searched the net, but I cannot find a solution. I thought the 99 Avalon is similar to 99 Lexus E300 and I have tried searching from that perspective, but no luck. Any ideas? I do not want to crack the lens
Ok, I'll look it up for you.
So, the service manual says the lights are accessible from inside of the trunk. There is one very evident, then a couple others stacked along the periphery of the access hole. Removing the tail light looks like there are two screws that come in near the weatherstrip for the trunk lid, and one more that is tucked behind the interior trim of the trunk, on the side, not the rear of the car.
