How do I remove shifter center console to get to shifter solenoid
1 Reply
Hello, The shift solenoids are located inside the transmission, so I'm hoping you are referring to the shift interlock solenoid, which would prevent the shifter from moving out of park. To access the shift-interlock solenoid, the panel around the shifter will lift off with a gentle, non-marring interior trim pry tool. Once there, you will see a few sets of fasteners to remove in order to remove the solenoid. It is also prudent to check brake light function when there is an issue with getting the vehicle out of park, as well as wiggling the steering wheel and repeatedly tapping the brake pedal at separate times. Testing the brake light switch will also assist in locating the issue.
