I have a 2006 Volkswagen rabbit with the check engine light on. It has the code P0101. I already changed the Mass airflow sensor, and the manifold pressure sensor, but the check engine light is still on with the same code. I don't know what it is at this point. What do you think it could be?

Cold engine

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! If you’ve already replaced the Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor and Manifold Pressure sensor, but the P0101 code persists, there are a few other things to check. The P0101 code indicates an issue with the MAF sensor's performance, but the root cause might not be the sensor itself. First, check for any vacuum leaks or intake air leaks, which could throw off the MAF readings. Inspect the air intake system, including the air filter, hoses, and connections, to ensure everything is sealed properly. Also, look at the wiring and connectors for the MAF sensor—damaged or corroded wires can cause erratic readings.
