how can i fix the power door lock on my truck

Sounds like the door lock actuator could be your problem.

Previous owner probably didn't lock and unlock vehicle very much so, the lock mechanism and rods are probably "frozen". Need to pull interior door panel off. Then lubricate all components and see if that solves the issue.
