please help

The check engine light came on. i asked Balswick to replace struts shocks and changed the oil. sales rep said needed brakes and rotors too. didnt see anythihat would cause check light on. next day i went in said check light still on at 9am 2/20/2921 they said they would check for $118. about 9:30 sales rep said they checked and need torque converter and new transmission. Whats odd is the printout was done at 7am before i went in at 9am tell me how? 2000. more to fix. What didnt they check transmission fluid the day before change fluid. they rep said it would do no good. Not true transmission fluid lubricates the transmission.
