The A/C works and the regular fan works, but when I try to move the dash switch over to the heater, it won't go beyond the half way point. The air tempurature doesn't get hot/warm.

The simplest place to look first is the heater control valve. It is out in the engine compartment has two coolant hoses going to it and is located right at the center rear of the engine compartment on the firewall. get a friend to move the heater lever from full hot to full cold and see if the heater valve travels to fully open and close the heater valve, The cable may have come off the heater valve. Hopefully it is not the heater control assembly as that is more complicated to replace than a simple cable adjustment.
