Heat blowing cold. Coolant Leak. Even with plenty of antifreeze, still cold air.

My heat went cold 3 days ago. Every so often after starting the car it may blow warm air but only for a couple of minutes. I do have a coolant leak that seems to be coming from underneath the coolant tank. The temp will go up half way and for my car that is not normal since it always stay 1/4th of the way up. I have never had any over-heating issues. Even with plenty of coolant my hot air will just not stay warm, just ice cold. Thanks.
