how do i remove the headlight lens cover

The head light covers are not removable even though some head lights have what appear to be clips the covers are actually bonded on. I miss real glass headlights, these plastic lamps oxidize and go dull. I have used car polish compound or special plastic cleaner to restore the lens covers.
