Have there been any recalls with this vehicle with the A/C compressor?

Took my car for oil/lube, tire rotation. Mechanic discovered A/C is leaking freon. Says Compressor and Receiver Drier need to be replaced (in addition to adding new freon). My mechanic contacted his parts dealer and was told these parts have been on back-order for months. This leads me to believe a lot of people may be having the same problem.
