Help! My galant is burning too much gas we're getting about 200 miles per tank. Went to the dealer today and they found a bad spark/wire, nothing to address the problem at hand, the lost of gas. How could they not have a clue? This can't a first. I need a solution to this probelm, and quick.

first of all, a bad plug and wire will cause excessive fuel usage. the motor would be running on 3 cylinders and working a lot harder. if you went today, how do you know it did not fix it? give it a chance before you make a conclusion. Roy
I remain hopeful; but after traveling approx. 25 miles a quick glance at the gas gauge lead me to believe it wasn't a complete fix. We'll see if my morning commute drops the gauge substantially. Thanks matstertech6371. 2/2, it appears to have been the spark plug/wire. The gas gauge dropped dramatically over the past few days, so we filled up yesterday for the first time having traveled 173 miles. It wasn't on 'E', so we remain hopeful after spending $267 [at 2 shops] that the fix was complete. I will update this post if there are further developments.
