Gas Smell

You need to inspect the entire fuel system. It could be leaking at the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail, there's an O-ring gasket there which could harden and leak. It's also possible that there are fuel leaks at the injectors. You should be able to see traces or wet spots if these fittings are leaking. The gascap gasket could be missing a gasket or there could be a leak at the top of the tank where the fuel pump is. Track it down. Use your nose, a flashlight and mirror. No smoking..
