I have experienced the smell of gas while idling even when warmed up. The dealer spent hours upon hours trying to figure out what is wrong and has been unsuccessful.

The best way to locate a gas smell which is a small leak, is to use a 5 gas analyzer and probe for the source of HCs. This machine measure them in parts per million and it is what i use. I would run a Nitrogen pressured Evaporative System leak test as well. If it fails this test then you know you have a fuel system leak. Do you have any Check Engine Lights coming on?
