Gas door release botton

There's probably an emergency release pull cable in the trunk, look in the owner's manual if you can't find it. I don't believe the dealer couldn't find the problem and fix it easily, maybe you got bad advice from a service writer who didn't want to be bothered. I like independent specialists, myself.
