After 110 miles or so

Have you had a fuel pump replacement recently? It is possible that the float is beginning to stick and wont raise and lower properly to get the right fuel gauge reading. Sometimes when the pump is replaced the mechanic doesn't always get the float back in position without resistance causing bad reading. To see if fuel is low i would check owners manual and see the size tank in that car, then fill again and take note as to how many gallons it took to top it off. If your tank was empty and you are getting such poor mileage then u need to wonder if your service engine light has been displayed. Sometimes if there is an engine problem the car computer will go into a limp mode which allows the car to run only well enough to get it to a service station. this will cause certain fuel mileage issues too. If it is just a stuck gauge u can replace it but if the pump is in the tank its usually not worth the trouble. I would fill it reset the trip meter and drive how u normally would for 50 miles then fill again and see how many gallons u had to top it off again. Divide the top off gallons by the 50 miles to see what the mpg is. then the next time you fill it u can estimate how many miles u can travel on the full tank, so u dont accidentally run out of fuel.
