trying to remove old pump,not sure what to do after disconnecting lines

Clean the area where the fuel pump cover is attached to the fuel tank. With a BRASS drift or punch, not a STEEL drift or punch, tap the locking ring loose. The BRASS or punch drift is to prevent sparks so you don't start a FIRE!!
