fuel pressure high,it starts idles rough
What is your question?
car is 1989 240 2.3 F.I. gas.Itwill start but idles rough one has to pat the gas to keep it running.It runs okay athigher speed.A mechanic (pep boys) checked it & said the fuel pressure reg. was at fault as the fuel pressure was high. The car has 240 K miles on it. Advice please.

This is a common failure with these fuel pressure regulators. If the pressure is above 40 psi, replace it. When the regulator fails the pressure will jump to over 60 psi, so it's real obvious when they fail.
