The fuel gauge will not rise even when there is fuel in the tank. Gauge always reads empty. Any help will be much appreciated.

Try a bottle of Chevron Techron Concentrate, it has fixed several inoperative fuel level sensors for me. The additive has the ability to clean the level sensor in the tank, and for about $15.00. It also helps to clean the injectors and valves so it's a triple bonus! If after a tank of fuel the gauge isn't working, then you'll need to perform a diagnosis of the fuel gauge/sender circuit. http://bit.ly/Techron_Concentrate
the fuel gauge and senders are diagnosable with a tester. an open circuit will default to show empty. this can be a bad sender, broken wire or a gauge. the techron approch may help if build up on the sender sweep is the problem but may take a while to show results. a great diag tool that can do cluster diag is available from www.ross-tech.com
