Loosness in the Front Suspension Due to Worn Tension Strut Bushings on BMW 540i

Problem Description and Possible Solution

The front thrust rod bushingsalso referred to as tension strut bushingsare known to fail occasionally. The oil-filled rubber mounts weaken and crack over time, causing a mushy road feel and shuddering in the steering wheel when going over bumps. These worn bushings should be replaced.

shuddering in front end goibg over bumps at low speed. seems like something is loose. ball joints and struts are excellent shape
last front end alignment with new tires had mushy strut bushings. Now starting to cause vibration in the front when braking. Will replace next week.
