front doors won't open from outside

i can not open from doors of vehicle with fob or by hand, I can however use the key to get into the drivers side door, but no key can be used on passenger side, so I have to open it from the inside, which is a pain in the butt!! I read that there was a recall on a part that caused this problem? Do you know anything about that?
