My TCIL comes on and flashes after I have been driving for about twenty minutes and usually occurs as the transmission is shifting into fourth or fifth gear

This sounds like your Transmission has a fault code. Need to retrieve the codes and then Diagnose what is wrong. It sounds like your higher gear ratios are the issue, possibly a lock-up converter/overdrive problem. Could be the solenoid, dirty fluid or several other things.
